In accordance with Hungarian rules and legislation, those who receive money from the state (including state scholarship) have to have a Hungarian tax number. A tax number is also required for student jobs.

The application form for a tax number has to be submitted to the Tax Authority. During the orientation period (Sept. - October), it is done by your international coordinator with your authorization.

Required documents:

  • Application form (available at tax authority or in the International Relations Office)
  • Address card/certificate (stamped and signed by the Immigration Office or issued electronically)
  • Student Status certificate (in Hungarian)
  • Copy of passport

The tax number has to be registered in your NEPTUN account under My Data / Personal Information / Modify Data /Tax ID: type the number and then click on Send Modification request.

On Gödöllő Campus, late applications (from November on) for a tax number are arranged by students themselves.
