The aim of the programme is to train agricultural digitalisation engineers who are capable of operating and managing agricultural digitalisation and IoT technologies in the Hungarian and international agricultural sectors. Graduates will be able to address agricultural digitalisation development tasks while taking into account the specific characteristics of the sector, and to perform middle-management duties in various fields of agricultural digitalisation at both national and international levels. They will also be prepared to continue their studies in a master’s degree programme.

- professional qualification: Agri-digitalization Engineer.
Length of the programme: 7 semesters

Specific Features of the Correspondence Study Programme
The curriculum, the structure and progression of the knowledge acquired, and the requirements for the final examination are identical to those of the full-time study programme. The mode of instruction, the scheduling of course units, and certain methodological aspects may vary depending on the location of instruction.
Károly Róbert Campus: Students’ classes are held on a weekly basis on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
Kaposvár Campus: Classes for students are held on a weekly basis on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
Professional practice
The professional practice component consists of:
- a professional practice period related to the theoretical component of the programme, lasting 3 weeks (a total of 60 hours) in the full-time study programme and 1.5 weeks (a total of 30 hours) in the part-time study programme; and
- a professional practice placement at an external practical training site, lasting one semester (12–15 weeks), comprising 520 hours in the full-time study programme and 260 hours in the part-time study programme.
Skills and professional competences acquired on completion of the program
Upon obtaining the bachelor’s degree, Agricultural Digitalisation Engineers are able to:
- manage relevant organisational units within small-, medium-sized and, where applicable, larger agricultural enterprises. In business organisations, they perform comprehensive agricultural-economic and information technology functions, plan and manage complex agribusiness processes, and manage available resources. Based on the knowledge acquired and experience gained, they are also capable of managing and operating their own business. In the course of their work, they cooperate with stakeholders and professionals from related fields;
- organise, monitor, analyse and evaluate production processes in agriculture. They are capable of working effectively in international and multicultural environments;
- participate in business management processes, projects and group-based problem-solving activities and, as middle managers, plan, organise and evaluate activities related to their field of expertise. They are capable of carrying out and managing innovation, planning, development and research activities in the field of the agricultural economy, as well as managing the practical utilisation and implementation of research results;
- perform, to a high professional standard, analytical, decision-preparatory and decision-making activities related to the establishment, operation and termination of enterprises engaged in the agricultural economy. Working independently or as part of a team, they are able to participate in the development and implementation of business, operational, tactical and strategic plans. They are capable of applying and using modern information technology tools and software relevant to the operation of the agricultural sector, and of communicating professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, in Hungarian and in at least one foreign language;
- analyse, in a comprehensive manner, the problems and opportunities of a given rural area and provide advice on possible directions for its development, while actively participating in regional and spatial planning activities. They are capable of assessing the impacts of specific corporate, institutional or community projects on the economic, social and natural environment of rural areas. They are qualified to contribute to improving the living conditions and livelihoods of people residing in rural areas affected by various fields of agribusiness, to integrating available resources, developing local economies, and promoting sustainable development.
Conditions of obtaining pre-degree certificate (absolutorium)
- successful completion of all compulsory courses included in the programme;
- acquisition of the required number of elective credits in accordance with the curriculum, amounting to a total of 210 credits.
Final exam
Conditions to attend final exam:
- obtained pre-degree certificate (absolutorium);
- submission of thesis and its acceptance by reviewers;
- the student shall not be in debt to the University.
Parts of final exam:
- thesis defense;
- comprehensive complex exam.
