Our university has been organizing an International Dinner for more than 10 years, and for the past 5 years as MATE University, with the participation of both Hungarian and international students, lecturers, teachers and staff.

Programme:
16:15 – Arrival of the chefs & helpers with their amazing creations
17:00 – The members of the Jury start food tasting
17:30 – Entrance for all guests
18:00 – Short opening ceremony with MATE Forduló - a Hungarian folk music performance
18:15-19:45
– All students taste the wide range of delicious foods and vote for the Audience Favourite.
18:15-19:30 – While tasting foods, audience watches MATE Stars’ performance
19:30-20:00 – EUDRES Science Pub quiz;
~20:00-20:30
– Teaching of Hungarian folk dance steps
~20:45 – Announcing the winners and the distribution of prizes
~21:15 – Closing the event

International Relations Centre provides the chefs with financial support for the ingredients according to the table below, ONLY IF you ask for an invoice (“számla” in Hungarian) in the shop for the following name, address and tax number:

No costume? Go for elegant (dress or suit).

Your table, your creativity. Add flags, colors, symbols — make it pop!
👉 We’ll provide an A4 flag + country name, but extra decor is on you.

Display the name of your dish + contest category.
No printer? Hit up your campus International Relations Centre — they’ve got you.

🔌 Tech & Setup
•    Add your technical needs in the registration form
•    Dorm kitchens = open, restaurant kitchen = not available
•    On-site: microwave + heating containers + staff support
•    Guests will get plates, glasses & cutlery

🍽️ What You Need to Bring (Chefs)
Bring your own serving gear: bowls, trays, jugs, cake stands, etc. + decorations.

🎤 Performers
We’ve got mics, speakers, music setup ready.
🎸 Instruments? Please bring your own.
