Kaposvár Campus of Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences and its Institute of Physical Education and Sport, together with the Hungarian Defence Forces, will organise the MATE Cross Run Eventing and University Championships (MEFOB) on 20 April at the Pannon Riding Academy in Kaposvár. Entries are now open for the sixth edition of the event.

MATE Cross Run participants can start in individual and team categories. The youngest runners can compete in the 1 km mini run, primary and secondary school children in the 4 km run and adults in the 8 km race. Teams of four will cover 4-4 kilometres.

The event will be accompanied by a varied programme of activities. There will be a military and firefighting demonstration, as well as face painting for children. This year, the organisers are again expecting schools from Kaposvár and the surrounding area, work teams from partner companies (including KOMETA 99 Zrt., VIDEOTON Elektro-PLAST Kft.), the National Defence Forces and the Disaster Management, and family relay teams. The organisers will pay special attention to the participants of the university championship (MEFOB) categories and there will certainly be exciting races between the competitors of the Hungarian higher education institutions. Competitors from MATE campuses are welcome to participate in all events
