Overview

The aim of the training is to train professionals in the field of film and media studies who, with their theoretical knowledge, are able to navigate the processes of mass media development, are familiar with the specifics of media communication and are able to interpret texts using media communication methods. Graduates are suitable for performing practical tasks related to the production of motion picture and multimedia texts. Based on their preparation, they have sufficient theoretical knowledge and creative practical skills for professional work and practice management. They are prepared to continue their studies in a master's degree programme.

7. The educational objective and professional competencies of the undergraduate degree programme

The aim of the training is to train professionals in the field of film and media studies who, with their theoretical knowledge, are able to navigate the processes of mass media development, are familiar with the specifics of media communication and are able to interpret texts using media communication methods. 7.1. The professional competencies to be acquired

7.1.1. Specialist in film and media studies

a) knowledge

  • Has comprehensive knowledge of the processes and concepts underlying creative activities in the field of film and media.
  • Has basic knowledge of the theories, history, principles, stylistic periods, and trends of film and media, as well as their most important works.
  • Is familiar with the materials and techniques that form the basis of creative activities in the field of film and media, as well as the circumstances in which these activities are carried out.
  • Well-informed about methods, implementation directions, and opportunities for conducting research and gathering sources in the field of film and media.
  • Knows the possible solutions for communication tasks related to the field, the methods of acquiring knowledge, the most important information bases and sources of information.
  • Knows how to integrate user, cultural, social, technological, and economic aspects into design.

  • Able to identify and solve routine professional problems in the field of film and media.

8. Characteristics of the Bachelor’s degree programme

8.1. Professional characteristics

8.1.1. The disciplines and fields of study that make up the programme and lead to professional qualification:

  • general theory of Art Mediation 20-30 credits;
  • art mediation and communication skills 8-16 credits;
  • specialist theory of imaging 8-16 credits;
  • basic knowledge of film and art 9-15 credits;
  • Basic knowledge of motion picture production 80-114 credits.

8.1.2. Specialisation is recommended by the higher education institution in the field of moving image culture, resulting in specific competencies, with a credit value of at least 30 credits within the entire programme.

8.2. Requirements for the professional internship:

The professional, creative practice is an art practice organised at an external location, internal rehearsal room, studio, workshop, specialised classroom, studio, or laboratory, accompanied by consultation, as defined in the curriculum of the programme, and has a credit value of at least 3 credits.
