Overview
The aim of the programme is to train economists for businesses and public sector organizations who have sound and integrated professional knowledge in a wide range of management areas. With the knowledge they acquire, they will be able to analyze, plan, and manage the work processes of organizations in the competitive sector and the public sector. They can identify, analyze, and solve newly emerging problems while using familiar forms of individual and organizational learning and utilizing their abilities for innovation and creative thinking. They are prepared to continue their studies in doctoral programmes.

4. Degrees accepted as prerequisites for admission to master's programme
4.1. Full credit value can be considered for undergraduate programmes in Business Administration and Management.
4.2. The credits specified in section 9.2 may primarily be considered for: undergraduate level of trade and marketing, business and management, international business, finance and accounting, tourism and catering, human resources, applied economics, economic analysis, business instructor training, and public service training.
4.3. In addition, the credits specified in Section 9.3 may be taken into account for bachelor's and master's degree programmes, as well as programmes specified in Act LXXX of 1993 on National Higher Education, which are accepted by the credit transfer committee of the higher education institution based on a comparison of the knowledge serving as the basis for determining the credits.

8.1. Professional competencies to be acquired
8.1.1. Economist in Management and Leadership’s
a) knowledge
- Has mastered the concepts, theories, processes, and characteristics of economics and micro- and macro-level economic organization and is familiar with key economic facts.
- Understands the structure and operation of economic organizations and their domestic and international networks, as well as the factors that influence and motivate them, with regard to the institutional environment.
- Is familiar with the European integration process and the European Union's policies related to its activities.
- Possesses modern, theoretically sophisticated mathematical-statistical, econometric, and modeling methods for problem recognition, formulation, and solution, as well as information gathering and processing, and is familiar with their limitations.
- Is familiar with the rules and professional and ethical standards of business, economic organization, and project planning and management.
- Is familiar with the modern trends and results of management and organizational science and practice.
- Knows modern management and organizational methods supported by information technology and know-how, and their practical application.
- Understands the methods for solving problems and new phenomena arising in the operation of organizations, as well as methods for processing critical issues.
- Has mastered the basic (functional) practical methods and solutions in the areas relevant to the training, as well as the possibilities for their utilization.
b) competencies
- Formulates independent new conclusions, original ideas, and solutions; can apply sophisticated analytical and modeling methods, developing strategies for solving complex problems, and making decisions in a changing domestic and international environment and organizational culture.
- After acquiring practical knowledge and experience, can manage medium-sized and large enterprises and complex organizational units, performing comprehensive economic functions in business organizations, planning and managing complex business processes, and managing resources.
- Can work effectively in an international, multicultural environment.
- Able to critically evaluate research and its results in the field of management and organization.

c) attitudes
- Critical of their own work and behavior and that of their subordinates, demonstrating innovative and proactive behavior in dealing with economic problems. Open and receptive to new developments in economics and economic practice.
- They have a cultured, ethical, and objective intellectual attitude toward people and social issues, and in their work, they pay attention to broader social, sectoral, regional, national, and European values (including social, ecological, and sustainability considerations).
- Strives to develop their knowledge and working relationships, and encourages, assists, and supports their colleagues and subordinates in doing the same.
- Is committed to their profession, knows and accepts its fundamental values and norms, and strives to critically interpret and develop them.
- In their professional work, they are driven by curiosity and a desire to learn about facts and contexts.
d) autonomy and responsibility
- Independently selects and applies relevant problem-solving methods in areas of significance in terms of organizational policy, strategy, and management, and independently performs economic analysis, decision preparation, and advisory tasks.
- Independently establishes, organizes, and manages larger enterprises or larger organizations and organizational units.
- Independently identifies, plans, and organizes their own and their subordinates' professional and general development, and takes responsibility for it.
- Examines, accepts, and manages the responsibility that the results obtained during analyses and more practical procedures also depend on the chosen method.
- Their work is characterized by independent and responsible consideration and consideration of economic and non-economic consequences when formulating professional issues.
9. Characteristics of the master’s training
9.1. Professional characteristics
9.1.1. The disciplines and fields of study that make up the programme and lead to professional qualification:
- economic and social sciences (marketing management, finance, mathematical and statistical methods and analysis, quantitative decision-making methods, research methodology, business economics for managers, economic policy) 15-30 credits;
- professional knowledge of management and organization (organizational theory, organizational behavior and management, strategic management, change and knowledge management, project management, production and process management, integrated information systems management, controlling) 20-30 credits.
9.1.2. The credit value of the optional specializations and professional modules within the training programme is 30-40 credits.
9.2. Minimum requirements for admission to the master's degree programme for holders of the certificates specified in sections 4.2. and 4.3.
The minimum number of credits required for admission to the master's programme is 60 credits in the following areas:
- 15 credits in methodological knowledge (mathematics, statistics, computer science);
- 10 credits in economics (micro- and macroeconomics, international economics, environmental economics, economic theory, economic statistics, history of economic theory, economic modeling, economic policy, sectoral and functional economics, community economics);
- 15 credits in business studies (corporate economics, economic law, marketing, finance, accounting, decision theory and methodology, business ethics, business communication, taxation, corporate finance);
- social sciences (European Union studies, public policy, economic history, sociology, philosophy, psychology) 10 credits;
- 10 credits in professional knowledge (value creation process management, leadership and organization, business planning, business management, strategic planning, controlling, human resource management, leadership skills development, information systems).
Admission to the master's programme requires that the student have at least 30 credits in the listed areas based on their previous studies. Missing credits in the master's programme must be earned in accordance with the study and examination regulations of the higher education institution.
