Professional Growth, Networking and Awards MATE at International Coordinators’ Meeting 2025 in Kecskemét

Between 26-28 November 2025, four colleagues of the Centre for International Education from MATE had the opportunity to attend the Annual International Coordinators Conference 2025 organized by Tempus Public Foundation in collaboration with the hosting John von Neumann University. The event, held at JNU’s Kecskemét campus, offered a rich, multi-day programme addressing the present and future of higher-education mobility, institutional internationalisation, and the evolving landscape of global academic cooperation.

During the opening session, participants were welcomed by high-level representatives — including officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the city council of Kecskemét and the Rector from JNU as well as the International Relations Office. Over the next days, our coordinators engaged in keynote talks, panels, and workshops covering topics such as stabilizing international mobility in uncertain times, best-practice exchange on Erasmus+, Pannónia Scholarship Program and other mobility programmes, and institutional strategies for supporting incoming and outgoing students.

The programme was a truly enriching and valuable experience. Our team could draw lessons from peers nationwide, gather practical ideas for improving mobility management and supporting international students at MATE, and build new networks with coordinators from other Hungarian universities.
We are also proud to report that MATE international colleagues were honoured during the gala dinner: Dr. Zsuzsanna Tarr received an excellence award for her exceptional work as an Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator and for the successful implementation of Erasmus+ KA171 Programme jointly carried out with Zsuzsanna Heltai. Judit Talláromné Czingili was recognized for the outstanding institutional implementation of Stipendium Hungaricum and Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship programmes. Their achievement reflects MATE’s commitment to high-quality internationalisation services and mobility support.

We hope that the insights and connections gained during the conference will benefit our students and future mobility projects — strengthening our institution’s role not only in the broader European academic community but worldwide.
