Tax Number

In accordance with Hungarian rules and legislation, those who receive money from the state (including ministry scholarship allowance - SH, SCYP, FAO, HDS) have to have a Hungarian tax number. A tax number is also required for student jobs.

​​​​The application form for a tax number has to be submitted to the Tax Authority. During the orientation period (Sept. - October), it is done by your international coordinator with your authorization.
Required documents:
•    Application form (available at the tax authority or in the International Relations Office)
•    Address certificate (issued electronically by the Immigration Office)
•    Student status certificate (in Hungarian)
•    Copy of passport
•    Authorization (in case you need your coordinator's help)

The tax number has to be registered in your NEPTUN account under My Data / Personal Information / Modify Data /Tax ID: type the number and then click on Send Modification request.
On Gödöllő Campus, late applications (from November on) for a tax number are arranged by students themselves.

The replacement of a tax ID card costs 4000HUF.

Same documentation as if it were lost except a police report is necessary and payment is NOT needed.
