Who is eligible
• Third-country nationals (non-EEA, non-Hungarian) who currently hold a valid Hungarian student or research residence permit, have completed their studies/research, and the job or business they plan matches that level. 

Where and when to apply
• Applications must be submitted from within Hungary (not abroad). 
• You should apply at least 15 days before your current student/research permit expires via the Enter Hungary electronic platform. 

Application process
• Apply online on Enter Hungary and pay the administrative fee. 
• Your biometric data (photo & fingerprints) will be taken. 
• The application is officially received once fee is paid and biometrics are recorded. 
Required documents

• Proof of job seeking or business purpose (e.g., registration with the Hungarian employment office or employer/business statement). 
• Proof of sufficient funds for living costs (income documents, bank statements). 
• Proof of accommodation (address declared on the form). 
• Health insurance coverage proof. 
• Valid passport and ability to cover return travel.
 
Processing and results
• The authority normally decides within 60 days. 
• The permit is valid for up to 9 months and cannot be extended. 
• If approved, the permit and a mobility certificate are mailed to you.

After approval
• During the validity period, you may apply for other types of permits like EU Blue Card or self-employment permits.
