Application and assessment process

Students can apply for the scholarship by filling in the application form HERE. ONLY AFTER BEING NOT NOMINATED AFTER YOU APPLIED FOR STIPENDIUM HUNGARICUM OR CHRISTIAN SCHOLARSHIP (expected date of nominations is the end of February). Applications previously submitted in SH or SCYP application system will have to be uploaded and submitted in MATE's application system. After reviewing the documents, the International Relations Centre will forward them to the institutions concerned. Unless otherwise instructed, your first and second chosen MATE programme will be considered in the same order.

The application process has two circles. Those who applied for SH or SCYP but have not been nominated will be contacted after the nomination process is over (1st cycle), while those who applied and have been nominated for SH or SCYP but have not been awarded the scholarship will be contacted as well (2nd cycle).

Students whose Stipendium Hungaricum (SH) scholarship is expiring and are not eligible for extension but are still within their designated duration of study may submit an equity appeal via email until 31 May 2026. Please include your Neptun code, the name of your study program, and the reasons for requesting a tuition fee reduction in the email. Deadline of application:
1st cycle: for those who applied for SH or SCYP but have not been nominated (1st circle): April
2nd cycle: for those who applied and have been nominated for SH or SCYP but have not been awarded (2nd circle): June

Decisions on admission are expected to be made by the end of June 2026.
