On 31 May 2024, MATE Centre for International Educational hosted a visit by the Dutch Saxion University architecture students, a key strategic partner of our European University Alliance E³UDRES², to the Institute of Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Garden Art on the MATE Buda Campus.

The Dutch delegation consisted of 13 undergraduate students and two accompanying lecturers. MATE was represented by Dr. Eszter Karlócainé Dr. Bakay, International Officer, Dr. Zsuzsanna Tarr, Head of the Centre for International Education, three Hungarian BSc students in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture and three final year students of the Master of Landscape Architecture and Garden Art. The programme began with a presentation on MATE and our internationalisation activities by Dr Zsuzsanna Tarr, Head of the Centre for International Educational Affairs, followed by a presentation by Dr Eszter Bakay on the history of the Campus, the activities of the Institute and the various study programmes. After the presentations, the guests were guided by Dr. László Nádasy, Assistant Professor, to visit the Buda Arboretum and the indoor Diploma Exhibition. During the afternoon, the Dutch guests made small cardboard landscape models under the guidance of MATE students, while talking to MATE landscape architecture students in a relaxed atmosphere and good mood.

The accompanying teachers have raised the possibility of organising a joint Saxion University and MATE landscape architecture workshop in Budapest next spring on the reuse of the 'F' building in the Upper Arboretum.
