We are pleased to announce that MATE International Scholarship Program (MISP) has been established by MATE - Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, that is, former Szent István University. In order to assist our internationalisation activities in line with the governmental eastern and southern opening strategies we are honoured to launch MISP to provide new prospects to a larger number of beneficiaries.
An Outline of MATE International Scholarship Program
MISP is primarily aimed at newcomer candidates from the African, Asian and South American continent. It refers to programs at BSc and MSc level. The same list of study programs are offered as in Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program. MATE International Scholarship Program is intended to those who are motivated to achieve better academic results and are ready to match their professional goals with MATE’s dedication to research and innovation.

MISP is to provide the last 90 credits (a little less than half the tuition fee) at BSc level and the last 60 credits (half the tuition fee) at MSc level free of charge for MISP holders. In order to have a smoother visa application process, MISP is designed to offer fee waiver at the second half of studies.
Application and assessment process
Students wishing to apply for our scholarship call should write an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line Application_MISP_level_program name. Applications previously submitted in DA will be promptly confirmed, formally checked and reviewed by the International Relations Centre, then forwarded to the institutions concerned. We will consider if not otherwise instructed your first and second MATE chosen program in the same order. There is no need to submit the same application again in your reply attached.
Deadline for confirmation of your interest: 22 April 2022
The institutes will conduct the check of submitted documents regarding content and an online oral entrance exam for the applicants between 22 April - 30 May. Decisions on admission are expected to be made until 15 July 2022.

- Monthly living costs (food and travel) account for approximately 300 USD.
- Monthly accommodation costs can be covered from approximately 265 USD.
Pandemia – Quarantine and PCR-testing
Our institution is dedicated to the safety of all university citizens thus for incoming international students an optional airport hotel with half-board service is organised for a student discount price so that everybody can spend their quarantine and PCR-testing period in the safest and most comfortable possible way. According to the latest governmental legislation, after entering Hungary, one needs to stay in quarantine for 10 days that can be shortened by two negative PCR-test results taken in Hungary (taking about 5 days).
- The estimated costs of quarantine period including testing account for 200-230 USD.
- During state of emergency period, we provide online education for students for which an own device with Internet access is necessary.
