MATE’s Orientation Week in Full Swing

Orientation Programmes kicked off in Gödöllő for over 500 international students at the beginning of the 2025/26 academic year.

The Autumn Semester Orientation Programmes at Szent István Campus - Gödöllő for international students began on 9 September, marking an exciting start to the new academic year. On Tuesday, participants enjoyed a warm welcome and a detailed introduction to MATE – its history, achievements, successful international projects, and the European University Alliance E³UDRES².

This was followed by guided campus tours in smaller groups, giving students the chance to explore their new surroundings, including the Library and the MATE Gödöllő Botanical Garden.

On Wednesday, the focus shifted to practical matters: students learned how to use Neptun, picked up tips on everyday life in Hungary, visited the Agroecological Garden, discovered sports opportunities, and even took part in a cheerful clothes swap.

By Thursday, the spotlight was on the essential Administration Day, where students managed key tasks such as health insurance, student ID, and bank account applications – all with the support of local authorities and MATE International Relations staff. The programme is set to close on Friday with a vibrant Day of Hungarian Culture, featuring museum visits, a royal palace tour, and the chance to try traditional Hungarian folk dancing.

So far, the week has been full of useful information, cultural experiences, and new friendships – making the transition into university life both smooth and memorable.

More programmes are planned across all MATE campuses throughout September. For details, please visit: https://en.uni-mate.hu/en/orientation-2025/2026
